Welcome back, everyone! We hope all are well rested and ready for hard work and fun. The second half of the year is very important especially for those who will be taking the major examinations – IGCSE, SPM and UPSR. So students, do work hard especially on your weak subjects.
Recently, the newspapers have reported disturbing news on the kidnapping of children. This is a major concern for schools and parents as well. We have already stepped up on security as of last term with teachers on duty daily and office staff on the alert. Besides this, the Maintenance staff have also been posted at various points, equipped with walkie-talkies during certain critical periods of the day. As scheduled, the mid-year examination will begin on Monday, 5 May for the upper secondary section, Monday, 12 May for the lower secondary and primary international section and Friday, 9 for the primary Malaysian section. The examination timetables have been distributed to the students. There will be no extra curricular activities (ECAs) during the exam weeks (5-23 May), so please arrange transport for your children to be picked up right after school at 3.15pm. This is to allow the students to do their revision at home.
The examination will break for Vesak Day on Tuesday, 13 May and Teachers’ Day on Friday, 16 May. The examination will continue as scheduled after each holiday.
MID-YEAR SCHOOL HOLIDAYS
The mid-year school holidays will begin on Wednesday, 28 May to 22 June.

School Telematch Day, Thursday 17 April
Telematch practices are well under way for the Telematch Day on Thursday, 17 April. The telematch will begin at 8.30 am and will end at about 1pm. However, students will have to come to school as normal.

We would like to inform that prayer rooms are made available during lunch time or after 3.15pm atbuilding No. 29 – Primary 5 classroom for the boys and the balcony room for the girls.

Assessment Tests for the Malaysian Private Schools
The primary and secondary Malaysian private schools are having assessment tests from 10 to 20 March.
During these times, we would appreciate that silence is observed. However, please take note that ECAs and swimming lessons will be carried out as usual.
A fire drill will be carried out on Friday morning, 21 March at 8.30am. A fire drill is a very important practice and a test of our fire evacuation and response procedures. Teachers will go through the fire drill procedure with the students and familiarize them with the procedure. Even though they are drills, they are very important because through practice our students will learn what to do and how to behave in an emergency.

We have started 2014 with a big bang as the Chinese New Year celebrations kick in early this year. Thank you to everyone for making it a joyous occasion with great performances and a fabulous pot-luck spread to start off the year of the Horse. Despite all the practice for the celebrations, lessons have been carrying on from the first week of the school term.
