Chinese New Year Holidays

dragon dance team in Sri Ara International & Private School - Johor Bahru, Malaysia

Our dragon dance team in action...

Chinese New Year is just around the corner, Monday and Tuesday, 23 & 24 January. As is the usual practice, the school will be closed for a week from Monday to Friday, 23 to 27 January. We will see you back in school on Monday, 30 January. Happy Holidays and a very Happy & Prosperous New Year to parents, teachers and students who will be celebrating Chinese New Year!

Chinese New Year Celebration

This year the Chinese New Year celebration organized by the SRC will fall on Friday, 17 February. The objective of the event is to share the joy of celebrating Chinese New Year as part of our Malaysian culture. This will be followed by a pot luck lunch. Students and teachers are encouraged to come in traditional Chinese costume.

Fee

Please beĀ  reminded that first term fees were due in the middle of December. There are still a number of students who have yet to settle their school fees. I hope that these will be settled as soon as possible.

Restricted Access

We would like to remind parents that we will be restricting access to everyone to the school premises, from 8.30 am to 3.00 pm, Mondays to Thursdays; and 8.30 am to 2.50 pm on Fridays. We thank those parents who are observing this ruling but notice that a few parents are finding difficulty with it. This will be enforced after the Chinese New Year break. Your cooperation is much appreciated.

Thank you for your continued support of the school.

ADMINISTRATION

Welcome to Ara Schools

As the premier Johor international school, we focus on teaching our international students by following a globally recognised International curriculum. This is the British IGCSE International curriculum using the University of Cambridge syllabus.

In addition, a different but closely integrated wing of the school follows the Malaysian National Curriculum programme.

Consequently, Ara Schools currently provide for the educational needs of approximately 120 students who are aged 5 to 16 years. There are students of many different nationalities whose families are resident in the Johor Bahru area, hence the School offers a truly international learning environment to every one of them.

The teaching ethos throughout the school is that through our emphasis on developing a well balanced pupil focused learning and teaching programme, the children from Ara are positively encouraged to be communicative, expressive, creative, motivated and confident.

We believe that this approach is ideal for preparing all of our children and young people for life beyond the school environment.

If you’re looking for an international school in Johor, we would of course recommend that you consider Ara Schools.
