Dear Parents and Students
Welcome back, everyone! We hope all are well rested and ready for hard work and fun. The second half of the year is very important especially for those who will be taking the major examinations – IGCSE, SPM and UPSR. So students, do work hard especially on your weak subjects.
Recently, the newspapers have reported disturbing news on the kidnapping of children. This is a major concern for schools and parents as well. We have already stepped up on security as of last term with teachers on duty daily and office staff on the alert. Besides this, the Maintenance staff have also been posted at various points, equipped with walkie-talkies during certain critical periods of the day. The last security company was unsatisfactory and was changed again. Two guards will be on duty on school days at all times. Other measures will be coming into place.
One of the most important things you can do to protect your children is to speak to them and impress on the potentially dangerous situations. The school has also discussed the measures so far, and cautioned children at Assembly.
Attached is a copy of ‘The Star’ advertorial for your information.
The Parents-Teachers’ Day on Saturday, 28 June will be an important day for parents to discuss with teachers on your child’s progress. We look forward to meeting you between 9.00am and 12 noon.
Refreshments will be served at Block No. 23 in the Art Room. We strongly recommend for all parents to come.
ECAs will stop temporarily until after mid-August except for Taekwando which will carry on as usual during the fasting month.
All ECAs will continue after the Hari Raya or Eid holidays and end on 12 September. The school will then have to prepare students for examinations and the annual concert practices.
The school holiday for the first of Ramadhan which falls on Sunday, 29 June will be replaced on Monday, 30 June. Please note that during the month of Ramadhan, the school office will close at 4 pm.
During the last semester Chef Salim and his wife were running the school canteen. However, they are now fully committed in the running of their own business. We would like to thank Chef Salim and his wife and wish them the best in their endeavour.
We would like to introduce the new canteen operator, Del’s Kitchen. Del’s Kitchen is operated and owned by Puan Dalilah. She has 14 years of experience running Dell’s Kitchen in Taman Pelangi catering both Asian and Western cuisine.
