Dear Parents & Students

Annual Charity Drive – Sri Ara Food & Funfair

Last year, Sri Ara Food and Funfair Charity Drive raised funds part of which went to the Children’s Surgery Ward, Sultanah Aminah Hospital Johor Bahru and a part goes towards a fund for development of facilities. The Student Representative Council has an involved process to select the charities that benefit from this drive.

At Sri Ara we are keen that our students and staff are fully committed to and participate in fundraising opportunities for charity. We believe that fundraising should be fun and we also strongly believe it is an ideal way for our school community to help others who may be less fortunate than ourselves. Raising money for charity is a fantastic way to give something back to our local and international communities and to make a real difference to the lives of others.

However, we also know our students personally benefit from being involved in fundraising activities in school. Organising fundraising activities presents a real opportunity for our students to develop as individuals and develop key skills such as events management, marketing and people management as well as team building skills which are very relevant to students’ future lives at university and in the world of work.

This event is open to the public and donations are greatly appreciated. We encourage all those interested to join us at the forthcoming fundraising event on Saturday, 6 September and will begin at 9 am in the Sri Ara school grounds, 23 Jalan Straits View. It is a replacement day for the school so attendance is compulsory. Students will have to be in school by 8 am and go home at 3.30 pm.

We are always very impressed with the generosity of our families and we hope you will support us again. This fundraising endeavour could not be achieved without the commitment of our students, staff and parents.

For those who would like to contribute to the jumble sale, kindly bring in the items to the office for us to begin sorting and tagging or should you want rent a stall to sell things for charity, we would appreciate if you could contact Ms. Niloufer about your proposals. Any donations can be dropped directly off at the school’s Administraton Office.

 

Coupons

For safe and easy collection of funds, coupons will be issued for this event. Each student will be required to sell at least 15 coupon booklets at RM10.00 each. Do encourage your friends and family to join in the fun whilst contributing to a good cause. We are happy to inform that the student who sells the highest number of coupons will be given a surprise reward for their achievement.
