Newsletter on 8th November 2012

Dear Parents,

As we approach the end of the School year, we would like to bring to your attention the following:

School Concert

The School Concert is on Friday, 9th November. Tickets are now on sale through the office, so please call to arrange your table, if you haven’t already done so. As always, students are practising very hard every day, and we would love to see every parent supporting them by being there.

I should also like to point out that as this is an official school function, student attendance is not optional. All pupils are expected to attend, and I would ask parents to make this clear to their children.

Parent Days

The school will close next week for Deepavali on Monday, 12th & 13th November and for Awal Muharram on Thursday, 15th November. School will be open on 14th and 16th November.

Any parent that would like to meet with their child’s/children’s class teacher to discuss their progress may do so on Wednesday 14 November or Friday 16 November between 10 am to 12 pm. To do so, please call the office for an appointment to make certain that the teachers you want to meet are here.

Student Visas

For those students who need to apply for a Student Visa/Pass for next year, please be reminded that documents and fees due for the next term must be paid by 15 November 2012 as the office will be preparing all necessary documentations for submission by end of November.

Holiday Programmes

We are in the final stages of putting together several programmes for the upcoming holiday period. The following programmes will be offered:-

1) Art

2) ESL & Drama

Those who are interested may apply to the school office for fees and forms.

Swimming Gala news/practice

There is a swimming competition organized by the Amateur Swimming Association of Johor to be held on 2nd December at the MBJB swimming pool in Larkin and we have been invited to enter, with the fee for each race being RM2.

We are in the process of arranging extra training with our regular coach, Mr. Azhar, for anyone that wants to enter. If anyone is interested in joining what should be a challenging but fun event, full details and entry forms are available from the office.

Contact Details

In case of emergencies, the school needs to have accurate contact information for parents. We ask ALL parents to complete the attached contact form and return it to the office to ensure that we have up-to-date details for everyone.

During the holidays the office will be open up to 19th December and will close from 20th December. The new school year will begin on Wednesday, 2nd January, 2013.

On behalf of all the staff at Sri Ara, we take this opportunity to wish everyone Happy Holidays. Season’s Greetings and a Happy New Year.
