Sri Ara Schools news update – The school office is closed from 23rd to 27th December inclusive. We re-open for one day on the 30th December, thereafter to resume on the 2nd January 2014.
To be clear, it is confirmed that the first day for students next year is Tuesday, January 7th, 2014. Staff will be in before this, but pupils should be in school before 0800 on Tuesday, 7th.
A draft of the full calendar can be found by visting the download page (http://internationalschooljohor.com/admissions/downloads/).
At the moment, there are activities and events still to be organised and/or confirmed, so there will be changes, but it’s good as a general guideline.
We’ve started posting some clips from the recent School Concert to our YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/AraSchools (make sure your follow us!).
These clips are just a taster for the ‘final cut’ of the full Concert video that will be available for the very first time after the holidays. There will be a nominal charge to cover costs, and the DVD will be available by order through the school office when we return. Please contact the office for further details and to place your order.
Another innovation for 2014 is the establishment of a kindergarten or reception class. This is for children aged 3 and 4 and is primarily for parents that have older children in Sri Ara or those that would like to introduce their children to an International school environment at the youngest age. Contact the office to reserve your space or to enquire further!
For the first time in several years, the holiday programme didn’t take place during this long break. For parents that planned to send their children and the kids who love these programmes so much, please accept our sincere apologies…
The good news is that next year, there will be a holiday program in both the Summer Holiday period in June and early in the long December break. The dates are shown on the calendar but note that they are provisional and included to enable parents who want their children to attend to plan accordingly.
As always, both Sri Ara holiday programmes are open to everyone, pupils of Sri Ara and non-students alike. Thus, they provide a great opportunity for children who are not in the school to sample an English-speaking International School environment in a relaxed, fun-filled atmosphere.
As always, contact the office for more…
Parents, please make sure that we have up-to-date contact details for one or preferably both parents in case we ever need to contact you in an emergency. It sounds like common sense, but you’d be amazed how many times parents have given us non-existant handphone numbers and e-mail addresses in the past!
