Hari Malaysia

Friday, 16 September is ‘Hari Malaysia’ and is a public holiday for all.

Examinations

We would like to inform of the following examinations:

ECA

There will be no ECA for the rest of the year except for Taekwondo. Swimming lessons will resume as normal except during exam weeks. ECA periods will be replaced by concert practices. Please look out for further notice on concert practices.

YAP HANZHEN’S ART EXHIBITION

Yap Hanzhen’s Art exhibition entitled, “Of Obedience, Solitude & Beauty” will be held on Saturday, 17 September from 4-9 pm at the Leisure Farm, Gelang Patah. Come and give your support. The Mid Autumn Lantern Event will also be on between 8-9 pm.

Dear Parents & Students

Motivation Camp

The motivation camp will carry on as arranged. On Thursday, 12 May, students who are joining the trip will have to assemble in school by 8.30 am before departure time and will return to school on Saturday 14 May at around 3 pm. Parents, please arrange the necessary transportation for your child/children.

Teacher’s Day – 16 May

Monday, May 16 is Teachers’ Day. There will be friendly games between teachers and students in the morning. Please make sure that students are in the correct attire for the games. This will be followed by pot luck until lunch time. Lessons will carry on as usual after lunch and students will be dismissed at 3 pm.

Wasek Day

Tuesday, 17 May is a public holiday.

Swimming Lessons, ECAs and Exam Week

Swimming lessons during the second last week of school (16 – 20 May) will be moved to Thursday, 19 May. There will be no swimming lessons and ECAs during the exam week (23 to 27 May). All activities will resume as normal on the second week of school after the mid-year school holidays which will start on 28 May and end on 19 June.

Dear Parents & Students

Welcome back! We, at Ara Schools hope that all of you have had a super year end holiday and are back fresh and ready to start work for the new academic year of 2010! We would like to extend a warm welcome to all the new students who have joined us and Assistant Trainee Teacher, Ms Saleha in the Primary Section.

School Calendar

Attached is the school calendar for 2010.

Cafeteria

Some of you would have seen our alfresco cafeteria coming up. We have a lady called Molly who is prepared to come in to run it as soon as it is ready. Molly is experienced in the food business having run her own food outlet in Kuala Lumpur before she moved to Johor Bahru. She is prepared to bring in breakfast from 7.40 am and will be preparing freshly cooked food for break and lunch.

ECA’s

The ECA list is for this year is attached. Please fill in the extra-curricular activities that your child/children will be taking. Once an option is selected the student should remain in the chosen activities for the academic year. Any changes should be given to the ECA teacher in writing as marks are given for extra activities taken and these will contribute to the final overall mark at the end of the academic year. Kindly return the filled forms to the office by this Thursday 14th January. ECA’s will start on Monday, 18th January. Kindly inform your child/childrens’ transporter of the relevant pick up time.

Swimming

Swimming is compulsory. Attendance will be marked and this will contribute to the overall mark at the end of the year. Swimming classes will start this week. Please note the relevant swimming days for your child/children and ensure he/she is equipped with the appropriate swimming attire and proper equipment.
